Red face Best connection to Panasonic TH-37PV500?

I have a Sky+ box for which my installer (fitted in all the kit, amp etc) has connected it to my plasma via S-Video connection, saying thats the best picture quality. Personally I think it's a little naff, with the added inconvenience that I now have to switch the amp on every time I want sound (would have wanted audio from both the TV and Amp really so I could have the choice).

I also have another Sky box which is also connected to the same TV (not sure what connection, probably via Scart). I have two for multiroom, both in the lounge so they can both be used acround the house via multiroom system.

Does anyone know how I can get the best picture quality possible please for my Sky+ box yet still be able to use the Amp for audio when I want please? Since I watch the majority of TV via my Sky+ box, picture quality is important.

Thanks in advance.

What I Do

I have this exact setup and my SKY+ box talks to the Panny PV500 through the RGB SCART, which I think is better for PQ than the SVIDEO by a long way. Others may disagree. At least I get the sound without turning on the amp.

On a related matter, the SKY+ box talks to my AV amp through the optical Digital 5.1 link. It's rather irritating that Sky Box Office does not not support the 5.1 properly, though Sky movies does.

Sky installers are not exactly renowed for encyclopedic knowledge....

I will be sticking with this setup for a while after seeing the SKY HD demo at the Ideal Home show. They ran a large loop which seemed to be on footie for ages. Gosh how my enjoyment was enhanced by seeing more detail on the faces of the crowd and better grass. When it's less than £100 and there are lots of movies/natural history etc I might go for it, but as long as they waste HD bandwidth on footie they can stuff it!
