Problem with Sony VTX-D800U

Hi to all

Ive been using this freeview box for around 5 months now and ive had this problem with since purchase, the epg does not show programme info it just says "No Event Information" for nearly every channel. Ive tried rescanning and plugging the box into different sockets etc. but cant get the epg to work!

I know its nothing to do with my signal as i have a Humax 8000-80 which works perfectly and has no epg problems.

Does anyone have a solution to fix this apart from smashing it to bits ?

What software version are you using? I've not heard of any such problems.
Early software was a bit buggy (nowt unusual there) and if it's before 1.09 or something like that then I would certainly look to upgrading the software or having words with Sony if it is in guarantee as OTA updates are few and far between. I had an early Sony that would not even switch channels as the software was on the first release After a lot of groaning to Sony I got it exchanged as it was unusable.

EDIT: Have you tried a hardware reset?

Thanks for your reply! It has the 1.12 software version, and i havn't tried a reset as im not sure how to! If you could tell me how to do a reset that would be great, i will ring Sony after i tried that as the box is still under warranty.

To do a reset just hold down the power button on the actual box for 8 seconds. It will go green (from standby) then amber.. more a light red colour. After this let go of the button it will then go to red and switch itself on.
