Troubles with video sender

Hi, I'm haveing a few problems and wondered if anyone on here could help me.

I've got the Philips SBCVL1400 video sender for transmitting my Sky+ upstairs, which it does fine (picture & sound). However, it wont allow me to use the remote from upatirs. I've looked at the IR transmitters and they are emitting a signal constantly,is this right?? I tried a few remotes and it worked with my JVC tv but not my Cambridge Audio dvd recorder or my Sky+ box.

Any help or information would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Philips SBCVL1400

I bought a set of the Philips 1400 gizmos, and all I can really offer is that I think they are cack.. The original pair worked quite well, so I bought more recievers for other rooms (at quite a cost!) and then started getting problems.

Anyhow, then it started only intermittantly allowing transfer of the remote signals (so I guess I should count myself lucky, at least some of them were getting through!) and suffering with all sorts of buzzy interference and clicking on the soundtrack.

I think part of my problem may have been due to my wife's car - if the reciever in the garage is turned on, she cannot lock or unlock her car with it's remote so there is obviously some sort of frequency clash there.

Anyhow - grumble over. The Useful bit of information for you is that my 1400s did (at least intermittantly) transfer Sky+ remote signals...
