Don't know my ar*e from my HDMI

Sky have a lot more info on their web-site about the new HD service. Couple of questions for the experts.

1) I have a DVI rather than HDMI connection on the TV. The sky site says I'll need a convertor for the HDMI and a seperate feed for audio. - will this mean a loss of PQ and sound
2) For Sky+ customers a new box is required as well as a Quad LNB and some new cabeling - please tell me this won't meet 4 rather tham two cables from the dish to the box!!

I think it is two cables only - if you look at the back of the box, it only has to connectors for the dish.

1) You'll just need either a DVI->HDMI adapter or a DVI->HDMI cable, depending on which you prefer, and a pair of audio (red/white) phono leads. There shouldn't be any loss in PQ, however you should make sure that your DVI input is HDCP compatible.

2) A 2 cable feed is required NOT 4 as some people would like you to believe, therefore your right, if you're not already a Sky+ customer then you'll require a quad LNB and cabling.

Which will mean just stereo sound.

The HDSky has a digital optical out - to connect to an AV Amp - but it doesn't seem to offer a SPDIF output.

Cheers, Dave C.
