Tring Cards - Part 2

Continuation of Tring Cards
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Update.....

just got off the phone to tring-tv.co.uk (01617959220.) regarding sat 3pm

The guy on the phone explained that the matches being shown on satellite and terestial in albania at 3pm on a sat are unafected.

He didnt say it but, looks like 3rd party interference by the Premier League Just like the viasat baltic withdrawl..

The matches that are shown live on the coresponding channel will be shown in full at 5pm. He also went onto say that sat 3pm games MAY be back at the start of april but couldnt confirm it

With regards to the website and it not updated for some time,he explained that the person who updated it has left.

I asked how much a renewal is and i had the following answer:

We do not yet know how many matches are/will be shown next season so can not give you a renewal price. He went on to say, ring back before the new season starts

The way i look at it is the Premier League have clamped down on Tring like they did with Digitalb and regards to 3pm games few years back.

Next season tring wont have so many matches, ie no 3pm games.

I wouldn't renew next year until September at the earliest tbh.. wait and see how it turns out with Tring. As he said himself, less matches = cheaper card!!

Cheers for that update.

I think that these guys are doing their best in difficult circumstances. It's not their fault that the PL have got stroppy (again).

I agree & what's happened should be aimed at the EPL & Sky massively stepping up their action over recent weeks & not the victims which 'include' Tring & suppliers & so many others that are just victims too,

& ... it's only a short period of time that we saw Tring increase in picture quality followed by the increased channel line with added HD/ 3D & we weren't missing 3pms except where so many had s/w issues with certain stbs/ cams...

If you tried to Google info on the most recent High Court victory you'd think there wasn't a victory & instead you couldn't miss the shear amount of reports about that big jump in action the EPL & Sky had obviously been planning & after their High Court loss they've, among other things, added the on screen logo for that copyright ruling. [if it's a pub just change the picture format &/or put a sticker on screen or get a genlock etc..]

That may be untrue - they seem to make little effort to not sell cards across the EU and as Albania is not yet part of the EU is this sale legal or not? The recent ECJ judgement only clarified the situation regarding sales within the EU.

It be great if we do get some games at 3pm on a sat before the end of the season, but i very much doubt it It wasnt a good sign last week that liveonsat.com put a statement regarding tring listing games that they will prob not show. I wonder if they have actually lost sat 3pm games? is there actully a way to find this out i wonder Think i will stick with tring until the end of the season and GRTS on 7e for the one 3pm sat game
This weeks game is Chelsea - Stoke How do i get premier league hd on 10e can anybody confirm how many games cyfra show a season

I'm suprised I haven't seen anyone mention going to Abu Dhabi sports? They seem to have hd feeds of all premiership channels and you can get a receiver box and 12 month subscription for less then 300 quid?! Can only assume the satellite isn't easy to pic up in his country.

The reason being you need a huge dish in most parts of the country Minimum 2.4m and that depends where you are

I dont think admc will get the rights when they are up for renewal, Al jazeera will prob go all out for the middle east rights this time.

With the next rights deal i think the Premier League will:

Reduce the 3pm matches being shown/or even remove them completly.
Have no English coms on any foreign package.

I may be wrong but i dont think Al jazeera will bid for uk rights, can you imagine if they did though

$ky would lose lots of subs I

Oh right fair enough, anything much bigger then 1m is too excessive for a house I think. Ad sports would charge more I bet if it was easy to get.

The dealers would defo charge more thats for sure, seen renewals for admc as low as £190 too
I think anything over 1.1m requires planing permission, can anyone confirm.
Anybody know whats happening with the next rights? Shoudnt we know by now, thought the results get anounced around this time
Or has it been delayed due to the pub/clubs and 3pm matches
.

1 metre is the no planning permission maximum.

A guy's getting it on a 2.4m Channel Master in S Wales & that's with the naff tuner'd Humax AD Sports HD card paired box. Don't know the rain margins but he's getting it.. good production in English & all matches & not affected by the latest action afaiaa [might change if too many got it in the UK though].

We have a Channel Master 2.4m up for grabs atm... was originally used on Nilesat for Showsports that AD won the EPL rights off & never missed a 3pm.... the renewal might be peanuts & the box & card aren't dear in the first place @c. £350 .. but the dish is c. £2000- £2500 new [& whatever the divorce settlement is]..... and they take some installing - can't fling em up like a cheap gazebo...

we've put bigger in .. when Showsports had the rights it was far better as an installer- you really had to know the engineering side & way above the dish on aerial brackets brigade ...& it was always close - you could get a blank screen up to 2:30pm - 2:40pm & just start getting the odd square at 2:45pm ... by 2:50pm - 2:55pm most of the screen was there with some glitches & went solid just before KO... you couldn't do it now with the staggered KOs but that exclusive nature paid for the dish & install costs...

When we had to switch to Viasat it was OK at first but it meant too many could do it which has contributed to the big increase in action from the EPL ...

Bolton - Qpr clearing fine and still in English
Looking at the epg and it has The following listed as showing on sport 1

Bolton v Qpr
Chelsea v Stoke
Everton v Totenham

Nothing listed on sport 2,3 or 4.

I wonder if the Chelsea game will clear, what with the Premier League limiting only one 3pm game to be shown across Europe.

If it dont clear il watch it on 7e

As the tringtv UK guy said, those in Albania have been unaffected recently so I'm not suprised its still listed in the epg. Makes me wonder tho how many pl viewers there actually are in Albania?!
