16E reception !

Hi Guys,
After much thought i've decided to take the plunge and order the Tring card for the footy this season.

So i attempted to setup my satellite for it to see if i can get a reasonably good signal... but cant get anything.

I've got a 1m motorised dish, 0.2dB universal LNB and a DM800 receiver. There is nothing in the way and i have already setup the main sats successfully, (0.8W, 13E, 19.2E & 28.2E). Location Leicester.

I've referenced lyngsat for all freq's etc but get nothing, ive been through almost all of them.

Am i right in thinking it may be that i need to physically tweak my setup for maximum signal?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

The dish is a vision, but i'll have to find out about the lnb as it wasnt me who installed it.

Mind you... having thought about it i should have had a go myself...

Hopefully your not expecting to watch 3pm sat games as nothing is confirmed with Tring yet, just darkclown giving out rumours!

If it is ever confirmed i was thinking of going down the same route and was under the impression that 16e could be picked up by a larger style sky dish

I think what happened is that tring have put a page up on their website which was just the fixture calendar, but people took it as their schedule of what they are showing.

Apparantly you have to buy a "tring plus" card to be able to view the 3pm football and costs an extra £50

Are you getting any of the other stuff on 16E? There is quite a lot. You should be fine with a 1M dish.

I'm in Leicestershire area, and get 16e perfectly fine. Can get digialb, total tv, itv partner, all no problems. Well, I can't check at the minute as I'm away, but before I left about 2 weeks ago I could... Also, last time I checked tring (was about a year ago) I could receive that as well. So unless tring has changed to a smaller footprint (I'd doubt it), then on your 1m you should be able to, unless it is really poor quality dish/lnb...

I'm using an 85cm gibertini, and 0.2db Inverto twin lnb... So unless they're what's giving me the edge over you (but would think that extra size would help you... )

We like the Gibertini dishes- the dish face, feed arms and main dish support assembly at the back are all good - the only thing being the AZ/EL is too long &/or gets too thin in the wrong place and needs a bit more lateral support and lets it down a bit- especially if used on a motor but otherwise it's one we use after a quick mod and will get more power/ lower noise & beam width seperation than quite a few others per surface areas.

Wouldn't trust them lot as far as i could through them, the tring website is (if things are to believed) run by alsats.

Listings here say no EPL 3PM KO with tring.
EPL TV List

Also i'm not far from you mate and get 16e no problem with 1m dish.

You could do a manual search for this sat by switching off the usals for 16east, then select manual search for 16 east and enter the strongest transponder which is 11283 H 27500-Fec 5/6-DVB-S(QPSK).If you drive your dish to either 13 E or 19.2 E prior to this then you will not have far to nudge it using the fine tune. Not sure what image you are using on your DM800 but its quite easy to do this on Nabilo Blackhole 0.12

I use the same image and i'm not using USALS, ive gone into satfinder put in the transponder details and moved between 13e and 19.2e but still no luck, i have also tried fine tuning from 13e (nudging east) and 19.2e (nudging west) still nothing.
hopefully i'll get a long enough ladder today to manhandle the dish.

I use Positioner Setup to find my sats without Usals, its Menu-Setup-Service Searching-Positioner Setup-Tune(red button) and then enter the details of the service you are searching for (manual transponder,sat(16E),transponder details and then press OK button, then go to Positioner Fine Movement and nudge the dish East or West depending on which direction your starting from.Once you get the highest signal there is an option to store(green Button)

The only thing i did notice on mine was that it took a few seconds for the dreambox to pick up the signal when i was searching which meant i had to tweak it back and forth till i got any sort of reading ,so maybe nudge....wait.....nudge....wait...nudge...wait could work.

No problem on a 65cm in the North West, so you should easily get it

Thanks

Preston area. If you're on about the triax 64cm I'd go for the 78 to be sure. They aren't offensive size-wise (unlike the 110). If you're on about getting all 3 on a fixed dish, I believe they are too close, but I'm sure one of the experts will advise.

I'm just down the road from you, thanks for the heads up.
Any idea about 26E around here?

I used to get a signal on BADR 4 but it was only 1 Arab news channel. Couldn't hit the other 2. Lost it somewhere down the line so I must have been really fringe. Don't think you can get the other 2 without a whopping dish.
