Anyone else lost +8 on their Al-Jazeera sport card on Hotbird?

My +8 no longer clears and my Technomate 6800 just ends up telling me "Scrambled Channel" all the other channels in package (Non World Cup, not really worth the £80 upgrade fee!) clear no probs, Anybody else having this? I dont want to contact my dealer just yet as I have seen Al-Jazeera advertising +8 as the NBA channel during the ad breaks this morning, I hope this dosn't mean they have spun off +8 as a opitional extra!

I forgot to mention the viewing card is in a official Smit made Irdeto CAM.

A update on this, I posted on another forum and one of the guys there says his is the same on his Viaccess 4 card on Hotbird & 26e but NOT on 7w where his card clears +8 no probs. Here we go again!

Weird one as showing at bottom with EPG but black screen?
9&1o been same for a while now,along with 3D channel.

All others ok though.

What type of receiver you using mate, some types will tell you "No audio or Video" if there is a place spot there but broadcasting nothing (Fortec Star Passion for example) but others will give you the "Scrambled Program" message as if it cant understand why there's nothing there (Some Comags).

DM8K, normally your get tuner fail but i get nothing just black screen, maybe
problem there end.

There was a period last year where +2 was guffed for about two weeks with audio & picture break up as if there was a couple of fully grown Sea Gulls humping on your dish boom arm. They knew about it & it still took them two bloody weeks to fix it.

My card is not clearing channels 1-8 either just shows scrambled - Manhattan Irdeto receiver, I think they may have a problem, only had the card 3 weeks, strange thing is when the card is out channel is still frozen with channel info at bottom, I have rescanned with no success

Yes it has, all 1-8 worked until Wednesday. Have deleted and rescanned channels on receiver (Manhattan 300 Irdeto).
Strange thing is channels 1-8 seem frozen when card is out so wondering whether it might be receiver although everything else works fine. All channel info remains on screen on Aljazeera Sports instead of clearing after 3 seconds. I have tried an old Irdeto Cam with no success.

Seems to be a lot of trouble with these cards. Mine failed to clear after 6 months a while back and had to be sent back to seller to be 'updated'. Whatever that meant. So I'm no longer subscribing.

Are you using the correct frequency: 11296 H, Symbol Rate 27500? Why I asking is, they were using another transponder aswell as this one during the World Cup, the others are gone, so make sure the above tuning details are the one your using.

I have all correct frequency parameters 11.296 etc. I have a feeling the card has somehow messed up my internal irdeto slot on the receiver, when I now go into the irdeto menu it reads loader error on one of the lines, regardless of which channel I am on, could the card have done this? I am wondering whether to buy an Irdeto cam now but am not sure whether I am throwing good money after bad,.

I doubt it mate, what's more likely is that they (Aljazeera) have changed some of the parameters in the encryption that your receiver with it's current firmware has flung a wobbler with, What Manhattan model is it, do you have the latest firmware installed? To be honest, the last latest official firmware still might not cut it though

. If everything else fail's, I would be willing to check the validity of your card number with Aljazeera themselves, just email your smartcard number as wrote on the card!, not off the receiver menu. Anything to help mate.

Thanks for your advice I shall try and download the latest firmware for my receiver and check with the company that sold the card to me, if that all fails I shall purchase an up to date Irdeto cam as a last resort, will let you know how I get on, thanks again.

Pay no more than £30 for a Irdeto CAM, Smit make is the cheapest you will find, though officially licensed Irdeto CAM's are also made by Edison,Mascom,Aston & SmarDTV .

I bought a Smit Cam £24, card still did not work. sent card back to supplier who sent me a new card at no extra cost, everything's working OK apart from the actual Irdeto slot in my receiver, but will live with that for now, but am getting JSC 1-8.
