Yeah it is a clone, but it included a Ferrari sim. There are loads of images available from Dreambox Made in China for this sim and the 2.0.1 sim. I'm told this Ferrari sim is the best one to use at the moment - but I don't know. I'm new to this, and i'll just be happy to have a stable box :-)

I was just wondering if there was some sort of comparison I could read between the different images. I'm really not sure what to expect. Are there feature differences, or are the differences just in the GUI?

well im new to this too.ive tried a few images and went for dream elite 1.3.3 in the end.it just seemed more user friendly than the others i tried.plus its very stable.the gemini 5 i tried kept crashing and i didnt think it was user friendly.its each to their own.i think you should try a few images and decide for yourself as whats good for some isnt for others.

afaik yes.i could be wrong.one little tip,if youve bought dm800 they tend to get real hot.ive just bought one of these

Just been having a little problem with my dm800 when i unplug from the mains and plug it back on its taking about 10 mins to boot up is this normal?Is there a fix for this?It never used to do this,its taking ages to load up the image at start up.Help

when i go on holiday i see no point of leaving it on so i unplug it from the mains.I was away for a couple of days so decided to unplug it.

Takes a few minutes, not 10 though (probably about 5), I`d reflash the image in case somethings got corrupted.

I don't know much about the DM800 (I only just got mine) - but if you just pulled the plug, it could be doing a filesystem check on boot as you did not shut down gracefully. Ideally you should shut the box down via the menu option - standby isn't enough.

All sorted now done a reflash and it now takes about 3mins to boot.Thanks guys what would i do without you?

Just got my self a usb laptop cooler pad with 3 fans which i was going to use on my dm800 but i have two problems one is the bright blue light that stays on all the time and the other is the fan stays on all the time is there a plug in i can use to set the time the fan should kick in eg every 1hr?Is there a work around to this?Anyone recommend a cooler pad same size as dm800 and with no fancy lights on it.

Hello, i seek some advice, i have setup my dm800 (original) and motorised dish, Ive successfully scanned in 0.5W, 13E and 28.2E on initial setup. Now a month on i try to scan in 30W the same way i have done previous sats.
im not using USALS as Ive had a bit of trouble with my long and lat, anyway, once in positioner setup i tune to the frequency and then press the button to move the dish but nothing happens, i can do fine movements but that takes an age, if anybody has had similar experiences i would greatly appreciate your advice. I have tried a hard reset but still not able to move the dish. Ive read that i have to select "yes" in tuner config for increased voltage: i have done that but still no luck.
Its an original DM800HD with nabilosat bh v0.12. I really don't want to re-flash the image, i'll leave that at a last resort.

I set up a mates DM600 for him a few months ago, loaded gemini image and an
old channel list i found. Now i'm sure you can download an upto date channel list using the dm600 and gemini server?

As i'm unable to get to him and he has no clue what so ever i'm hoping someone can help me so i can pass on the info?
I thought it was under x2 blue button but he says he can't see it.

hi mate on the dm8000 its green button, yellow button, addons download manager, enigma 2 settings. Don't know if its the same for boxes

I can't remember exactly, as it's been quite a while since i used gemini images (since I no longer have my dm800 ).

But, I'm pretty sure that it's blue button once, then, in there it gives you a "download addons server" or something along that line. Then, the settings would be under there...

Also, since this is regarding the dm600, this should be under a different thread, no?!

Is it possible to get English EPG for Sky Italy/Germany as default, i.e description of movies etc. in English? I know they are meant for their respective countries to be in their own language, but having them in English would be Helpful when is comes to timer record.sometimes im missing out on a lot of films since titles are not in english.Is there a plug in to translate the epg? or the only option is to go on sky italia home page for listing and use google translate.

Have you tried using the imdb movie plug in? May work.

thfccambs about your Dm 8000 when you bought it what else does it come with in the box?Do you get the dvd writer with it or you pay extra for it .

You can buy the DM8k with DVD writer and/or 1tb drive pre-installed, but obviously you pay extra...

Yep, i just added 2 extra DVB-S2 tuners and a 1tb Hard drive.

With a DVD wrute you'd probably be better of buying it yourself and adding it, think
some places wanted £99 for something thatr could be had for half the price.

It works a treat on most film titles, so long as the title is in the epg it`ll search on it and generally returns the english name along with alsorts of useful (?) information. Particularly good for the Polish/eastern European film channels when you couldn`t even guess at a translation for the title.
