I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who have multisatellite and also have a genuine interest in broadcast 3DTV which is receivable in the UK.
This thread is NOT for the discussion of the pros and cons of 3DTV, there's plenty of that elsewhere on the forum and so please no posts like '3D is a waste of time' or 'I would never buy a 3D TV' etc etc. If you want to post that sort of crap please start your own thread
As 3D channels seem to be popping up all over the arc I thought it would would be a good idea to post info about satellite, provider and parameters etc.
Please feel free to add any other info and I will try and keep this thread updated with latest info.
No special satellite receiver is required for broadcast side by side 3D, any HD receiver should be ok, I use a Dreambox DM8000, however a 3D TV will be required. Whether or not you can open the encrypted channels of course will depend on the equipment and setup you have

I should imagine some of these channels will be showing Worldcup footy in 3D

I guess I should point out I don't have a 3D telly yet, I'm hoping to get the Samsung 63" plasma when it's available, hopefully soon

Coraline which I believe is the first showing of 3D movie anywhere in Europe. Usually on their other film channels they broadcast the original language, hopefully this will be the case here too as I will be recording it.

Nordic version HISPASAT 30.0W
11.731 H 3/4 30000 encrypted and FTA ID MEO 3D & OPEN 3D
There are 2 channels on this TP from Portuguese provider MEO, there is a 3D demo loop and a static advertisement for 3D which is what they used for showing 3D tennis recently. I have a Spanish friend that lives in Spain that tells me Canal+ Espania will also be putting up a 3D channel soon that will be showing a minimum of 10 Worldcup matches in 3D.
That's it for now although I fully expect more 3D channels to be popping up soon.
