freesat in bulit tuner

Hi I have recenly purchased a Panasonic G15 which has freesat built in. currently i have Sky+ (SD) but am upgrading to HD at the weekend assuming i have a quad LNB is it worth wiring up the freesat from the spare connector? apart from getting ITV in HD am i missing out on anything else or is just another cable for the wife to bitch about!!!

Connecting it would mean you could watch something on (say) ITV HD or another satellite only free channel whilst recording two separate subscription channels on your Sky HD box. Whether you often find three programmes on at the same time that you want to see is down to you.

Well if you can kid your wife that she's seeing all of ITV in HD, she might be happy; but if you tell her the truth that it's more likely to be football than anything else - especially if you show her the thread (in the Sky HD forum) about the poor PQ of Brazil v England - then you'd better stand back!

thanks for that it may then be worth doing, i will see if the sky engineer who fits my HD box will do a "homer" have you done this, if so any idea how much it would cost if he isnt willing to do it?

I doubt if the Sky guy will do it as the hd box will be a straight swap for the sky+ box so ther's no extra cabling involved. He might do you a foreigner though, no harm in asking.

You will have a quad lnb, sky always fit quads, twins for sky dishes are rare (and cost more)
