Not allowed dish on house - what are my options?

We live in a rented house and the tenancy agreement does not allow dishes on the side of the house. However i have been told that it might be ok to install on the shed in the garden, where it cant be seen from the road, or maybe on a pole. If it not on the house or viewable from the road the landlord will be fine, but what exactly is possible? Will sky do this kind of thing, or will i need a private install?

Do you know if she had to pay extra? How much did it cost?

There may be extra to pay for a 'non-standard installation'.
It very much depends on the work to be done and the installer. In any event it's probably best to make Sky aware of the situation before the installer arrives (to avoid delays).
There may be more help in one of the Sky sections.

If you can get site of the satellite from your garden a ground based dish is best so that it won't move around in the wind. Otherwise a pole or a shed roof will do but it needs to be rigid otherwise you'll lose signal in the wind
