new satellite TV installation - what do I need?

Hi,

I'm installing a satellite dish and want to have two feeds in the same room; one to my media center and one directly to the TV (with Freesat).

Do I need two LNBs? Or can I just feed the signal into a splitter?

I'm a total satellite noob, so please advise exactly what I'll need.
Thanks.

If it's just 28E you're interested in, then a quad (4 output) LNB is all that's required with separate feeds to the Freesat TV and MC DVB-S tuner -that would leave two spare feeds for future use.
Example (I assume it's a Sky dish)
TheDigiboxShop - Sky Quad LNB

You cannot satisfactorily split a satellite signal

Well, this is intended for the Astra 2D satellite, for picking up Freesat HD services.
I presume the recommendation still stands?

Thanks for the tip - that's a lot cheaper than other LNBs I've found.

Yes, for what you require that's all that's needed.
As the specs state
"Direct replacement for any existing Sky LNB
Four outputs make this LNB suitable for up to four digiboxes or two Sky plus boxes"

Due to a mistake in my original reply I've corrected it from DVB-T to (the correct) DVB-S tuner
