Combined signal

Hi all,

Looking for a bit of help, I have a sky box fitted in the lounge but there is no aerial to it, getting an aerial there now due to decorating would be a nightmare.

I have a cable from my RF2 outlet going in to an amplifier in the loft feeding other tvs in the house using 'magic eyes'. There is an aerial in the loft, the question I have is , is there any way I can send an aerial feed & a feed from the RF2 outlet down the same cable? If so how?
I know I wont be able to watch anything other than sky in the lounge.

Thanks,

Re: Combined signal

you cant send 2 signals oposite ways on a coax cable. let alone of the same frequency.

The answer is probably yes if you use a uhf/uhf diplexer to combine the aerial feed to the the loft amplifier and the the output from the sky box rf2 output. Because the sky box uhf output can use any channel it depends on which transmitter you get your terrestrial signals from. The trick is to find a channel that you can use for the sky box that is at least 2 channels from any used by your local uhf transmitter

Re: Combined signal

Thanks guys,

Think I will have to look at getting an aerial feed to the sky box, seems the most straight forward, just have to be ultra careful or will have Mrs Eckland on my case .

Cheers.

Sometimes. See the various possibilities laid out as diagrams here: How to combine aerials/LNB into one cable?

However, the chances of getting a magic eye to work like this are "remote".
