Using Skydish for freesat, unsure if my setup will alow it...

Hello
Im new here, so be kind.
The setup I have at the moment is my TV picks up sky from downstairs (I can only change it with a magic eye, or going downstairs to change it!)
Is there anyway I can hook up a freesat to my TV through this ariel. I imagine the ariel into my room does not actully receive its own signal - but just channels it upstairs from the box...
I basically want TV independant of the rest of the house through the sky dish.

Your thoughts please

Assuming your Sky dish has only a single lnb, you need to change it for a quad lnb and connect an extra coax to your bedroom (2 if you want use a pvr)

I realise it's not exactly what you asked, but it could be a quick and easy solution for you to have a choice of TV channels easily......

It seems like your TV upstairs is fed from the RF2 OUT on the Sky box.
This being so, if an aerial is plugged into the Sky box, the same cable that carries the Sky output to the TV in your room will also carry the aerial signal and so (if the aerial is suitable/adequate) enable you to watch Freeview (terrestrial digital) but not. of course, Freesat.

You can also control the Sky box from your room using a magic eye/sky link
