Unhappy HELP! Navigo GPS Sat Nav or Tom Tom One????

Hi all,

I need a Sat Nav, mainly for UK maps, I need to buy it during next week or so....
I don’t really know what to buy but it’s between the Navigo GPS Sat Nav and the Tom Tom One, which one would you recommend? How good is the Navigo when compared to the TT One?
I’ve read about some users using TT software with the Navigo but how easy is it to do that?

Thanks in advance!

Re: HELP! Navigo GPS Sat Nav or Tom Tom One????

Dead easy
I am completely happy with my Navigo, better than sliced bread.
I use it all the time as a MP3/Video player, and anytime I go on a journey over 20 miles (ish)
(I'm using Miomap for navigation, TomTom isn't all that great in rural areas)

Re: HELP! Navigo GPS Sat Nav or Tom Tom One????

I've been using TT for years on all my pda/phones etc , but recently bought the Navigo widescreen 895 and it's very good .I bought it specifically for it's screen size as my eyes aint what they used to be .The supplied software is the 'DOGS' and is useless , but with a bit of tinkering you could get TT ,Miomap ,Igo ,and countless others on the same card if you should desire.I'm happy with just 4 on the SD card in my 895 .Yes ,I do recommend the Navigo .

Re: HELP! Navigo GPS Sat Nav or Tom Tom One????

I owned a TomTom a couple of years ago (can't remember the model) but it got nicked. It wasn't that good TBH, so when I decided to buy a replacement, I went with the Navigo. I followed the various guides (it used to be on here but I'm sure it will be still on ebuyer and moneysavingexpert or the gps forum sites) and got it up and running pretty easily once I got the correct files. I use miomap and prefer it to the TomTom software I was used to. I borrowed my parents TT not that long ago to compare and preferred my £50 job! I have also had a look at a mate's Road Angel and it was quite impressive with clearer visible warnings but when it came to navigating some side streets in Glasgow it wasn't much use. If it's only for occasional use, I would stick with the Navigo but if you do a lot of miles, maybe invest in a better model with more features. I don't do that many miles so I'm more than happy with my £50 bargain

Re: HELP! Navigo GPS Sat Nav or Tom Tom One????

Hi All,

I got my Navigo yesterday, added the tomtom 6 software to it in less than 5 minutes and it's working perfectly! The Navigo is great! It looks and feels very good. All easy to use and tomtom 6 works and looks better than turbo dog. Strongly recommended!

Thanks everyone for your help!!!

Yes it is , but you can run all sorts of other satnav stuff on this too .Route66, Miomap, Igo and others . Miomap is excellent , it gives you your speed and notifies you if you go over the speed limit .This is something the very good TT6 doesn't .I've now lost my Navigo screen and opted for the WindowsCE boot up as there seems to be quite a bit of software going for this OS.

According to the TT website, TT6 does do this:
Quote:
Speeding alert: Alerts you that you’re speeding, even if you're not in navigation mode.

On My TT(v6) the mph text goes red when you're over the limit.

Re: HELP! Navigo GPS Sat Nav or Tom Tom One????

Well , I never knew that and I've been using TT6 for years now.
Still, nothing like a lady's voice politely telling me I'm over the speed limit though :-)
