Kenwood speed pulse wire

Hi,

I bought a Kenwood DV3200 sat nav unit from eBay but it didn't come with a wiring loom. I've figured out most things but the speed wire is a little more concerning.

The manual states:
Do not cut off the holder marked "S SENS" (containing a protection diode) of the car speed signal detection cable H (White). Doing so will cause a fault with the car.

Anybody know what kind of diode and which way round? Sounds like it might be a mistake to miss it out...

Thanks in advance
Elliot
