eBuyer NaviGo GPS mains charger.
If people are still struggling finding a mains charger for the NaviGo why not try a Motorola mobile charger.
I have been using one that came with a Razor with the mini USB connection & it seems to do the job just fine.

What kind of charge speeds are you getting. USB on pc takes over 10 hours for a full charge which is a bit of a joke.

Re: eBuyer NaviGo GPS mains charger.
I'm using an old Uniross UNI505R adaptor which charges the SY885 to full (green light) in a couple of hours.

The 5.7v nokia charger works a treat too, so I'm told.
I've not checked what the car charger gives out yet.

The adapter i have says on the plug
" AC/DC Adapter
INPUT AC 100-240 v 50/60 Hz 3W
OUTPUT DC 5v-5.5v 400-500mA "
Would this be ok to charge the Navigo fromm the mains then. I hate anything to do with electrics....lol

Yes it will, but the current rating is no better than USB, so you can expect a long charge time.

Re: eBuyer NaviGo GPS mains charger.
There is something odd about this charger business - the two mains ones I've tried make a dodgy connection with the Navigo (it appears the plug is physically identical to the in-car charger included) - its possible to use them but care needs to be taken that they are connected ok and the red light is lit on the Navigo. The best has been a switching mode power adaptor from Maplins UK now £8.99 - delivers 5 volts exactly, regulated and claims 2500mA output – very high compared to usb. Although the plug looks right the connection isn’t perfect.
I also have an original and newer lightweight express Nokia power adaptors - the latter says 5.7V/800mA – but the volt output is far higher (without load) more like 7V – therefore I’m fearful of using it.
There's something odd about the charging - if you interrupt it when fully charged (green light) and without turning the gps on and reconnect the charger (or usb) it restarts the charge at full charge level again (red light)... and takes hours to go out. Its easier to understand on the usb as the current is so low from these. I have seen this happen before on chargers that just rely on time for charging, but I thought this was different. Or am I missing something.
But on the car the red charging light goes out almost immediately as the internal electronics step down to trickle charge shown by the green light. What is so different about the car charging setup? There is no dodgy connection either, however much the cable is waggled. Could the voltage output of the in-car cigarette lighter charger lead be delivering a far higher voltage - don't tell me its shoving out 12 V !
Any ideas, help or comments would be appreciated.
Rgds., Roy

Re: eBuyer NaviGo GPS mains charger.
I used my Ipod charger but it has not turned the red light green to show its fully charged, but was ok for emergency use.
