That screen is far too small to be any use as a Sat Nav

And my point is what good is Garmin???. if its takes that long to get a fix. Who looks at the screen on sat nav you are supposed to look at the road, or am I missing something.

Sounds like you did a cold start which always takes longer, and I would expect it to tell you the speed limit if you were speeding.
