Garmin nuvi 250 - please help!

My Garmin nuvi 250 and I are warily getting to know each other.

The issue I need help with is this. When I type in a city/town/village in response to the "Where to?" screen, it then goes on to ask the number and street.

Often I don't know! And I don't care. I just want to go to the centre of wherever.

(My previous sat nav - Mitac Mio 269+ allowed this)

How can I achieve this?

Sorry if this is a basic and banal question, and tedious in the extreme. But I am an elderley steam-age man!

When I don't know the number I just put a zero.

As for just wanting to go somewhere, I'm stuck. On the odd occasion I've wanted to get to a location, then from there know where I am, I just put High Street. Nearly everywhere has a High Street !

Go to 'cities' instead of 'address'. It's actually not just cities, even includes the smallest villages.

I forget the exact procedure. However; On the map of the city you need, click on the location you want and save it as a favourite. Then rename it (the garmin will have given it a vague street name)
