TomTom 520T from Amazon

Hi all. I had recently purchased a Navman S90i after being used to tomtom V6 on an Ipaq via bluetooth GPS. I found the S90i to be total rubbish. The screen updates were happening after I had passed the roads and this was not due to me driving like Lewis Hamilton! Refresh rate was abismal. I purchased this from Ebuyer and I have to say there service was the best I have received from an internet company. I reported the problem as described above and a speedy RMA was provided followed by a total refund and courier paid collection. Unfortunately there price for the 520 T was much greater than other places so although I would have rather rewarded the good service with an exchange instead of a refund, I could not afford the same level unit from ebuyer as the 520T.

So, I had seen Amazon with a price of £209. I went to purchase and to my amazement this was now £173 and in stock. I ordered, added a case as well and still under £200. I paid express delivery and spent the rest of the weekend reading all the PDfs I could find. Surprise surprise the item wasnt despatched. When I checked, the price has now changed to £219 and delivery 1 to 2 months! I contacted Amazon who have told me that all TomTom 520Ts have been recalled by Tomtom due to a misleading packaging issue. Personally, I think it is an attempt to have the hundreds of people who placed orders, cancel them and go somewhere else. I have been assured I will get onw at this price, and although I am the most impatient person on this planet, I am going to sit it out just cos I dont like being conned. I have to say I have previously had amazing service from Amazon and now feel totally let down. Has anyone else been subject to this? I have contacted other suppliers who all know nothing about a recall. Sorry for the sound off but with a company the size of Amazon they should stick by any errors made if that is what has happened here. If it is not the case, they should offer me the 520 and traffic module as seperates. Let me know if you have encountered the same issue or if you know of any great deals on 520Ts!

Thanks, Chris
