Tomtom V3 charge question

Hello everyone

I have just borrowed my brothers tomtom to help me navigate on a trip tomorrow, however I have just discovered the car I bought last week doesn;t have a cigarette lighter!!! it's a basic 10 year old corsa!!!

Can I charge the tomtom via my pc's usb port only as not got the power socket, but do have a spare usb cable to plug it into.

Also any idea how long the battery will last on one of these, it's only about 4 months old.

ps anyone know how much it is to install a cigarette lighter socket and where i can get that done?? (sorry off topic)

Yes it will charge off USB as I did mine yesterday and its never been used in the car yet. I'd visit the scrapyard and find a Corsa with a cigarette lighter socket in it and you should be able to connect it up, wiring might already be in place. Or buy a lighter socket from Maplins and wire it direct to the battery via an inline fuse.
