Hi there having probs with my tom tom the unit turns on makes the tom tom sound but all i get is the white screen have pressed the reset button a few time but still no change any idea thx?

You might have wiped the memory by accident - I recommend downloading the application again (via tomtom home if possible) and reinstalling.

Resetting the system normally works fine, I had this problem too on my TomTom 300 and it scared the hell out of me. Luckily I reinstalled and everything was fine.
