Advice wanted ! pda or satnav?

Hi all,
New to the world of satnav and was thinking of getting something cheap when i rememberd i have an old Dell axim X3,would it be worthwhile buying a GPS receiver for it such as this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GPS-Receiver-C...QQcmdZViewItem

or get a standalone unit?? looking to spend £120 top if i go this route can you please advise me the best route(so to speak)!!

I take it you dont have bluetooth on the dell then, so yes you will need a cable one.

I think PDA's are way better than a stand alone unit, like a tomtom or garmin. Thatere are lots more things you can do, like run memory map and other cool GPS programs etc.

That's true but only if you use the extra features. A Sat Nav is simpler and usually more reliable.

The best software IMHO is tom tom so to get the cheapest stand alone one is around £150.
