Garmin 310D - use map to set location?

Hi

I have the Garmin 310D (surprisingly!!) and wonder if there is any way to set a destination by touching the map.

The problem I have been having is that sometimes postcodes are giving me wrong locations and it would be good to be able to find the area to which you want a route and then touch the location to set the destination.

This would also be useful if no postcode was available - eg when heading for a town but no specific location.

Re: Garmin 310D - use map to set location?

Recently got the 310, but assume same method applies...

1. close antenna
2. go to map view
3. pan/zoom, etc to get location you want and touch screen at location
4. choose "Set Loc." button
5. choose "Back" button
6. choose menu button
7. choose "Where To" button
8. choose "My Locations" button
9. choose "My Current Location" option
10. choose "Save" button
11. name the place and there you have it!

hope this hasn't missed anything out. Good luck with it.

Thanks

It would have been useful to include this feature whilst setting a "where to" location.
