TomTom One SD card problem.

I received the new TomTom One for christmas, turned it on christmas day and it worked fine as it did for the following 3 or 4 days. I haven't used it for about a week until tonight. Now when I turn it on I get a picture of the SD card and a red cross.

I tried the card in a card reader and nothing, it won't even recognise it, so I believe there is a problem with the card. What could have caused this after it was working fine over christmas?

What is my best course of action now, contacting TomTom and explaining the situation? Or contacting Dixons Online who we bought the thing off? Or is there a way of using another SD card and putting the software on it?

I didn't backup the the SD card when I first got it, something which I now regret but if anyone can help I will be extremely grateful.

Thanks.

Re: TomTom One SD card problem.

Have you tried resetting the tomtom ?
Switich on the tomtom, at the bottom you'll see a tiny pin hole, get a pin or a paper clip keep it pressed in until it goes off, then switch it back on.
If that doesnt work take out the sd card and use the pin/paper clip and try again.
Failing that you'll have to get another SD card and try that, if that doesnt work you'll have a faulty unit, I had to take mine back the other day for no gps signal, now have a Tomtom go 910, very happy with that!
Good luck.

Re: TomTom One SD card problem.

I managed to recover the data on the SD card using a data recovery program I downloaded.

Seems to work now.

Phew .
