Tomtom 510 Bluetooth Handsfree

Just got my 510 in the sales and so far everything fine. Been very impressed with the navigation, the functions etc... However, the Bluetooth handsfree seems to have a bit of a problem.
I've managed to sinc my phone (Sony Ericsson K800i) with no problems, Bluetooth connections appears fine, address book appears with no probs - it's just that when i make a call via the handsfree, the call receiver[s] sometimes can't seem to here me at all. The external mic works fine but without it, it seems a little temperamental.

Is this a known fault or does mine seem faulty?

Mine is the same. The internal mike is accessible only through the front surround rim.... that tiny hole next to the release button!

Some say it works well but totally contradictry to what I have found. I guess if it worked well enough without an external mic they would not have bothered to supply one.

Happy new year to you guys ,would just like to say my 510 built in mic works very well it may be your positioning of the unit causing problems, try it closer to you and angled in towards you this may help.

To me it does seem like a fault because sometimes i can be heard and other time - nothing at all

I don't think it's anything to do with the positioning because i'm literally shouting at the thing and the call receiver can't seem to hear a thing. I think i may go back to the supplier and see if anything can be done.

Happy New Year and thanks for the response guys!

Re: Tomtom 510 Bluetooth Handsfree

Have been having the same problem - caller can be heard very well but anything above walking pace on the road renders my voice inaudible. Have even tried to see if the external mic provided makes a difference - it doesnt help me!

Placement is an interesting suggestion - gap between driver and unit can be quite large but I've even taken the unit off the cradle and shouted into the internal / external mics and still struggled to have a conversation. Have defaulted to an earpiece but am getting to the point where I may look to return the item.
