Can you guys reccomend an in car GPS or PDA with GPS that is for UK use only. My budget goes upto £230. Thank you.

TomTom One - does what it says on the tin.

Here are some quotes from other threads about the TomTom One processor etc....
The One has the better SiRF Star III GPS receiver in it, so will get a
better signal/reception than the 300.
The Tom Tom one is supposed to have a better processor inside,
(it does, almost twice the size/ speed) and people
on other forums say that the reception problems which can happen with the
300 dont happen with the tom tom one.
They both have there advantages but the tomtom one has the latest processors
so it can replan routes alot quicker also I here people say that the 300s
reception is not as good as the one the down sides to the one is the battery
as it is booked to last an hour but to be honest mine lasts about 2 and half

It's very tempting. I was also considering Sony products because of the reliability. WHat are TomTom like in reliability terms?

Don't know anything about their reputation but have not had any problems with mine that couldn't be cured by just pressing the reset button since I purchased it in December .

I was looking at the Sony NVU50. So you both reckon the TomTom One is the best and cheapest option?

You could always try the Garmin C310. Garmin are a well respected GPS designer and manufacturer, I have used their products for over 10 years, never had a problem with them.
I think Halfords are selling them at around your budget at the moment. Maybe worth a look?

It's rather confusing. I want a reliable one, that has good reception etc. TomTOm so far seem to have it, though they say Sony are rapidly catching up. I'll see the Garmin too, cheers mate.

I really liek the TomTom devices. I have been using a GO 700 for awhile and relaly like what I see in their new products that will be coming out soon, especially the 510 and 910.
