Which unit is best TomTom 300 v TomTom One

I have seen the new tomtome one around now, but which one is best between the TomTom 300 and Tomtom one, they do seem very alike but sure there must be lots of differnces or why bring out a new model.

The Tom Tom one is supposed to have a better processor inside, and people on other forums say that the reception problems which can happen with the 300 dont happen with the tom tom one.

The TTOne has better processor and gps reception + a thinner case. Only downside is 2 hour battery life compared to 4-5 hours for TTG300.

Yes, another vote for the TTOne - superb reception (even get 3 satellites in my lounge).

But TT Go has a larger (and probably louder) speaker.

TT One would be better suited to the pedestrian since it's flatter. It's probably harder to drop too. I bet every Go owner has dropped their Go at least once thanks to it's "soap on a rope" design.

I've never used the ONE, but i do know that the 300 is a high quality product. It is easy to use and is of great quality. You can't go wrong either way, IMO.

The One has the better SiRF Star III GPS receiver in it, so will get a better signal/reception than the 300.

Do a search for some reviews and see if there any obvious deficiencies with either model that may affect you in particular, or go to the TomTom site and compare them.

they both have there advantages but the tomtom one has the latest processors so it can replan routes alot quicker also I here people say that the 300s reception is not as good as the one the down sides to the one is the battery as it is booked to last an hour but to be honest mine lasts about 2 and half but I dont use the voice which brings me onto the next thing, the ones speaker is shadowed by the 300 to the point where the one crackles when the volume maxed, as you know I bought the one mainly for size and portability (you have seen my car).
I personnely would get the one but it all depends what floats your boat.

Is there an upgrade limitation to the One (just UK, maybe Europe only)?

I just picked up a little Garmin i3 which works fine for me, but as I won't be using it much so I didn't want to spend a lot on it. It was £115 from Ebay (previously £99.99 from Sommerfields and a few places if you could find them) and I think it's screen size may be the main issue as everything else seems similar to Tom Tom, though I haven't made any in depth comparisons. Tom Tom does seem to be the standard though and very very good and would be my choice if I was to be using it everyday. The Garmin is easy to put in your pocket (including bracket) which is something I needed.

Set the volume to around 70% - plenty loud enough, and the quality is a tad better.
