Samsung Pixon dropped in pond!

Hi,

I dropped my phone in pond by accident, so I grabbed it as quick as possible and took the battery out and dried it. I then put it in airing cupboard for 2 hours.

I've tried to turn it on and the usual loading bar comes on, but it keeps failing to load and the bar starts going again. Eventually a black and red screen comes up saying soething about firmware.

Is it dead? What can I do?

Re: Samsung Pixon dropped in pond!

Personally, I would have left it in the airing cupboard for at least 24 hours. Might still be worth trying that.

I dropped my Nokia into a bucket of water in the summer, so I stripped it down and left it in the airing cupboard for 24 hours and it works fine.

Cheers,

Martin.

Re: Samsung Pixon dropped in pond!

I've popped it back in there for now.

I've got a feeling it's dead though, since I saw little patches on the screen. So that suggests to me that to much water is inside it. Unless phones can still recover from that?

Amazing what you do for your phone though. I like fish, but hate touching them and would never have put my had in the pond. As soon as I realised my pixon had fell in though, before I knew it my arm was it to the water shoul deep feeling around for the phone. Luckily I got it out very quickly.

If it's buggered, then I'm buggered. It's on a 2 year contract, and I'm like 5 months into the first year. No insurance. Is there any thing I can do? Bare in mind I only sent it back 2 weeks ago to get the camera shutter fixed.
