debrand m8800 pixon and now wont turn on

I debranded my Samsung M8800 with the latest firmware using Multiloader V5.56.

It went through the process, came up with Wait Reset!, but then said Serial Port Not Found after 30 seconds or so.

My Pixon now will not turn on at all, either in BOOT mode or normally. The phone does not respond when the charger is plugged in either.

How do I fix this?

Thanks.

It sounds to me like the firmware upgrade failed and the phone is now useless. Even if under warrenty you wont get a free repair as unofficial firmware updates will void the warrenty.
You could try taking it to the shop you bought it from and just deny any knowledge of why it is dead - you might be lucky.

I was worried that may be the case.

If I bought the firmware with my credit card from a bonafied online company, are they obligated to replace my phone, as it was there firmware which was paid for that cocked it up?

Re: debrand m8800 pixon and now wont turn on

I would bet that somewhere in the firmware update instructions there will be a warning along the lines of 'you are doing the upgrade at your own risk', ie if you kill the phone then it is your own fault. They would just say that there is nothing wrong with the firmware, but you may have done something wrong to cause the update to fail, ie unplugged it during the process of updating.
Taking the phone to an official repair centre may mean they can replace the firmware, but almost certainly at a cost.
