Question on unlocking a Tocco Lite?

Can anyone offer me any info on the ease, or not, of unlocking a samsung tocco lite?. I am considering purchasing one on vodafone PAYG.
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Question on unlocking a Tocco Lite?

I have heard alot of people saying that if you buy the phone on vodafone from carphone warehouse it comes unlocked. As this phone is only £80 online from vodafone this is a bargin if it is unlocked. Can someone confirm that buying the phone online from carphone warehouse on vodafone its unlocked. Thanks

Re: Question on unlocking a Tocco Lite?

I am not sure about carphone warehouse but i do know that vodafone do not seem to lock their contract mobiles as mine works with my orange PAYG sim card in. They do lock their PAYG phones though, generally. Do you think that they may be refering to this?.
It seems to be quite difficult to get a definative answer on this unlocking question but i hope to get more replies the longer this thread is open for.

Re: Question on unlocking a Tocco Lite?

Your best bet to find out about unlocking any mobile phone would be to go into your local independent mobile shop that offers unlocking. In most cases they connect the phone to a PC and run some software that unlockes it - then charge yo about £20 for the 'hard work'. They should be able to tell you if they can unlock a Tocco Lite before you buy it.
I have bought a few PAYG phones from CPW and none of them have ever been locked to a network. They also have the advantage of not having any network branded software on them - that unlocking wont remove.

Mark.
