Would this set-up be suitable?

Due to the shape of the room and the placement of fireplaces and patio doors, this is pretty much the only way I can set out a surround system if I were to get one:



whilst I realise its not ideal, would it still be effective?

disjointed is the word, you need proper stereo seperation, like that you will have the center speaker giving you some out of sequence noises. Can you not get some stands and have the speakers either side of the tv
