Speaker Position Question

Hello all,

I'm sorry but this is another one of those will my speakers sound OK there questions but here goes....

I've got a typical Victorian terraced house, the living room having a fire place.

I'm looking for a new AV unit but am drawing a blank. This is due to the size restrictions placed on having it between the wall and the chimney breast. I also have my speakers either side of the TV at the moment.

This leads me to my question will it be be worth giving the proposed speaker layout a try. I know it's not the ideal layout but it's the eternal stuggle between home cinema and living room.

The only reason I'm asking before I try it is I've spent many hours running the cables neatly and this will require me to mess them up again (but I do love it!)

Attached is my current layout and then my proposed layout. The arrows point to the listening position.

If the proposed layout is no good could anyone suggest on that would work.

Many Thanks

Re: Speaker Position Question

i would leave it as it is, if you can spread the left out too, it will unbalance it a little...

Re: Speaker Position Question

I know I would like to leave it as it is but that really limits the amount of TV units available.

I'm really struggling to find one due to the limited space.

I'm going to give it a try this afternoon with the left as spread as possible.
