Colour - Contrast

Using the Blu Ray Wall-e THX optimiser on my panasonic th42pv500.
the problem I have currently got are,
Im only seeing 2 yellow rectangles.
The contrast wont go high enough to hide the white bars.
There is no gamma adjustment.

all I have to play with is,
Brightness, Contrast, Colour, Tint, Sharpness

Sorry I'm not familiar with the THX optimizer what is the particular element you describe above with yellow rectangles designed to calibrate ?

To adjust gamma properly you need specialist tools that can measure the luminance of the grayscale at set points.

Yes I know what it is and my question is what is the specific test you mentioned with yellow rectagles meant to calibrate/test i.e. contrast level ?

Can you see the specific test on here

AVI

Edit - I've had a look at the THX optimzer on the Cars R1 DVD. I can't see a test with yellow rectangles and wonder if you mean the contrast test but the white (really grey) rectangles have a yellow cast on your display ??. If this is the case you have an issue with grayscale accuracy.

Re: Colour - Contrast

It seems that all the THX optimizer blu rays are for R1 there are no R2 blu ray optimizers out yet.
Have to carry on using the THX optimizer on my finding nemo dvd.
