MDF or Plasterboard soundproofing qualitys?

Any advice on the following would be greatly appreciated. Im trying to soundproof a brick built shed the cheapest way I can and was wondering whether its best to use MDF or plasterboard? I get that mass is needed, but if its a choice between the two, which is better?

Currently I was going to do the following until someone offered me some cheapish MDF, but i dont know if its going to be better than plaster board. Below is how it will be in the shed -

BRICKWALL - 50MM Rockwool Flexi Slab - Plasterboard

Cheers
steve

Hi Dave. Generally take the heavier of the two that you can justify the price for. PLasterboard us generally less expensive. MDF if generally available in heavier sheets. Plus you can screw through MDF. This allows you to hang things where you'd like them.

A larger air cavity will help also.
