Classic retro game remakes coming soon to a pc near you discussion thread.

Considering the classic remake threads with download links have been on site for a good year now, i'm surprised i ain't posted this earlier, but hey better late than never.

So what's still being worked on and what can we look forward to playing on our pc in 2009?, i'll add more later.

I think some of these will jog more than the odd memory, remember these are in game video of the remade pc versions and obviously not the originals.

Here's a few of those crackers, more to be added soon :-

Myth history in the making (Commodore 64)

YouTube - myth remake

Ruff n tumble (Amiga)

Stunt car racer (Amiga)

YouTube - Stunt Car Racer Remake - WIP - Blender Game Engine

Spindizzy (Commodore 64)

Here's the links to the rest of the already completed and downloadable game remake threads

Classic amiga pd games (remade freeware downloads for pc)
Classic spectrum remakes freeware downloads

Apidya already has a remake posted here :- Classic amiga pd games (remade freeware downloads for pc) (There may be a later version available now though)

Bubba 'n' Stix oh yes a classic i loved that game, no remake of that available yet though.

There's a load of other classics posted in the remake threads, *see bottom of the first post*.

That fellas a perfectionist and it could take a good while yet, though it will look gorgeous.

I suppose it is better to wait a while and get an awesome version, rather then having it rushed ^_^.

They don't make games like this anymore...

Myth has apparently been put on hold for a while, shame but these people have lives too!

There's a great remake of c64 classic warhawk (obviously will be a homebrew game) for the ds being worked on. check it out below.

Re: Classic retro game remakes coming soon to a pc near you discussion thread.

Some great remakes on this thread.

For those of you who like the look of the "MYTH" remake (seen in the 1st post),
you may be interested to hear that the same guys are now also remaking ARMALYTE.

Interestingly, this will be an "official" remake (the IP owner has given his OK)
and also a commercial release. (ie it'll come in a proper box, with nice artwork)

You can read about it on the official Psytronik blog.
And if you want much more detail, here's my interview about Armalyte PC with the 3 devs.

It won't be ready for quite a while, but I'm hoping when it DOES come out,
they'll finally get back to working on their Stunt Car Racer remake.

Awesome! Loved Myth on the Speccy somay have to dabble with that.

Also Stunt Car racer looks great! I wonder if there's support for the G25 or other wheels? Now that really would be something .

Ok, as promised..

Armalyte for PC: First online review. (Link)

To try to capture the feel of the new graphics... I've made a few 6-screen panoramas.

*That's a scaled down version... the real ones linked in the article are 2500pixels wide.

I've also linked to the PC demo, if you want to give that a spin.
If you're a Mac user, the SAS team have said they'd consider a Mac port.

Looks like a lot of progress on the last ninja remake has been made, graphically superb and as most folks here already know along with it's sequel this is my fave c64 game ever, with mr smila and stu at the helm this could end up another cracker!

Sacred armour of antiriad is getting an enhanced remake courtesy of ovine, not to be confused with the already released remake by them, this could be another cracker.
