Thread to post new ideas for polls, listings, resources, forum games, image collections or other stuff that you think the AVF retro gaming section is currently lacking, needs expanding or enhancement.

Maybe you have ideas but don't have the time to implement them into your own thread, don't know where to begin or just don't know how to go about it, post them here and let's see if after a bit of discussion, between us either solely or with a little assistance maybe even involving the forming of a small team (if required) a few of them could come to fruition.

Please make sure your idea is retro gaming related before posting.

Don't worry if a thread has already been created on the subject matter, there is always room for improvement, just use the search function, i'm sure another member will provide a link if the idea has already been covered.

Announcement

As you may have noticed there have/will be a lot of new threads being opened in the retro section, i felt a need to inform members of what is going on and therefore will explain as best i can here, to put it simply i felt the retro section was devoid of discussion threads for individual classic games, i ran this by a moderator and well the rest is history/upcoming.

I'm not taking over the retro section honestly, though it may look like it during the next week or two as nigh on 100 new threads will be needed, but believe me when i say a few weeks after the final thread posting you will not notice they are there but they will have been opened for future use.

The included games have not been decided by me alone, i ran numerous polls (by individual system) for those a year or so ago and rest assured if you voted in any then you had a say in what games have/will be included, i have taken the top ten games from each poll and will include an appreciation (discussion) thread for each of those titles.

To keep things linear throughout i am trying to use the same resources for every thread (images, screenshots, boxart, links etc) and would ask that no one posts a game discussion thread which is included in the list of posted or upcoming games.

The intended list has been stickied so that once the threads are in place, all the classic game appreciation threads will be easy to find, once everything becomes mingled later.

Hopefully this will add another string to the retro sections bow and give members loads of classic games to talk about without fear of whether their thread fits in with the overall scheme of things, it will also jog our memory with regard to a few classic titles and give us something to post in when nothing else is of interest.

Feel free to add your comments, improvements or feedback with regard to this within this thread, bear in mind though i've started so i'm committed to finish the list above, so cries of don't do this! will have to fall on deaf ears .

Don't go there matey that was brought up a while ago now, i dare not ask again as it was hard enough getting the retro section, although Rottenfox was instrumental in listening to my badgering and in turn pressing the powers that be to get it included, having said that things will be set up already in case by some miracle it happens in the future (just a few threads to move)

Update

So far 30 appreciation threads have been posted, (N64, Playstation and commodore 64 top 10's have been opened) these are starting to take a good while to knock up lately particularly as boxart (back in particular) for 8bit games is hard to come by, i'm taking a couple of days out now and will return to it when i feel like dredging some more, in the meantime enjoy posting in the threads that are open.

Other stuff

Added a few individual music remixes to the appreciation threads, this is ongoing for a while so if one is available atm for that particular game and you choose to reply to the threads in a new window you can play them whilst you're posting, obviously you can play them whilst browsing the thread regardless (sets the mood) .
