Mega Drive Issue

I have an poriginal Mega Drive 1. For some reason it doesnt work and has been up the loft for years - literally.
As I have loads of games for this I want to use it again.
The options are repair or buy another one - any ideas on how to get it repaired?

Re: Mega Drive Issue

To be honest it might be just as easy - and maybe cheaper (!) to buy one from ebay... I think they go for about £10 inc p&p !

Re: Mega Drive Issue

I've had a couple die on me after being in the loft (an original Japanese one and an original UK one). I'd just buy another off ebay personally as mentioned above, as they go for next to nothing now.

Re: Mega Drive Issue

Make sure its not a cartridge contact issue. Use a cotton bud or two with alcohol to clean the contacts on a cartridge before trying it. If that works it might be worth getting a little spray can of contact cleaner and spraying a bit into the megadrive cartridge slot.
