Retro game compilations

What are your favourite retro game compilations on consoles?

I bought Midway Arcade Treasures for my PS2 from Game yesterday and I've been having great fun with RoadBlasters, Paperboy, Gauntlet, Marble Madness and Super Sprint.

Paperboy, especially, has brought back the memories - had never played RoadBlasters and Marble Madness.

This is only the second compilation I've bought - the other one being the Sega Mega Drive Ultimate Collection on the Xbox 360.

Re: Retro game compilations

This is the first time I have seen a decent job made of paperboy. Using both sticks to control speed and direction works very well.

I have quite a few compilations. The better ones are the Capcom and Taito collections. There are 2 volumes in each and they both feature a wide selection of games. There are some duds in there - but there's plenty to enjoy especially at the price.

The PS2 also got an Activision Anthology which is very good - doesn't save high scores unfortunately but you can unlock some stuff.

There's an Atari Anthology which is worth getting too. It has arcade and 2600 games on offer.

I'd avoid the Namco anniversary collection. The games are good but there aren't that many of them and we have seen it all before in the PS1 compilations. Its quite clunky in its presentation too.
