Retro Systems Setups

I searched the forum and found a thread from Haggler asking to have a retro section...great to see it here....

I was wondering if we could have a sticky for Retro system setups? I just dug out my old machines from the loft and am looking for photos of interesting and unique ways to display the setups.

How do you all get around looping the systems into your TV? all the old machines had the rf box with two outputs....I seem to remember daisy chaining the systems and flicking the block over to the one you want to use.

Great to see some of the equipment you guys have

This is personal preference and everyone is different, i am lucky as i have a spare room so all my retro stuff can remain hooked up permanently, lcd is by and large rubbish for retro gaming so i have three 28" crt's and two 20" crt's on 3 massive desks forming a horseshoe shape and i only need to switch between any 2 machines at a time, my main problem is the weight of the stuff doesn't come through the ceiling

Re: Retro Systems Setups

Buster,

Where did you get that awesome little stand from with the Saturn on??

I need something like that next to my TV for the Saturn, PS2, PS3 & 360.

Anyway like Buster mine are either scarted through a swithcer box (Saturn, SNES, MD) or connect via component to the AMP & then run to the TV (PS3, 360, Wii)

No pics at the moment but I'm a lucky sod & still have a CRT for my gaming needs (And extra jammy as it does 1080i over compnent as well for HD gaming goodness )

Next on my shopping list however now is a proper dedicated Cabinet so I do expect there will be some deffinite thinning of the collections as PCB's & Cabs themselves are not cheap in the slightest but by god are they worth it.

Re: Retro Systems Setups

No worries buddy.

You have given me the idea though & I've just seen this one in Argos...

for £24 I cant go wrong really & it means each console can have it's own shelf too

Thanks for that

Re: Retro Systems Setups

Here is my set up, looks a little cluttered though.

I am able to turn on each console and output to the TV without taking any wires out from the back of the TV
