Help getting Bung Doctor V64 to work

Hi, I have been searching for information on the net to help me for ages and I can't get this console working. So I was wondering if anyone here could help.

I bought the V64 with memory upgraded with 1x NTSC N64 1xJAP N64, a few NTSC game cartridges, a DS1 cart and two doctor V64 carts. I have been reading the manuals and I have set it up in the following way;

V64 with power cable and and AV cable connected then the N64 (NTSC) connected on top with only the power cable connected and no carts in the top. I have inserted a disc with the images I wish to load and got to the stage where I'm told "you can play game now". Following the manual I then switch on the console at which point the screen then goes black and nothing happens.

I don't believe this is a hardware issue due to it being bought as fully tested. I think this is something I am doing wrong.

If anyone has any suggestions I would very much appreciate the help.

Don't know if you have figured this one out but for reference you need to put in the DS1 adapter (or the grey adapter) into the N64 then plug in a original game cart into that. Now switch it on when prompted by the V64.

You also need to connect the N64 AV output to your TV as the V64 only sends it's own output. Remember to switch the TV to the correct AV input if you have multiple connections.

Hope that helps.

Yep as above you need to put in the V64 Emulation Cart or the DS1 Cart into the N64 with a Game Cart attached to one of these carts.

I used to output my N64 sound and video through my V64, but now I directly output my N64 and V64 independently from each other. Only downside is that I have to keep flicking channels.
