Do you still buy old handhelds?

In this day of emulators and fast PCs, I was wondering how many people still buy old (80s/90s) handhelds - instead of using emulators, for example.

Although I've only recently got a PSP, I find the games a bit too long and complex - I miss the pick-up-and-play games of the Sega Game Gear, Game Boy and Atari Lynx.

If I was to get a handheld off of somewhere like Console Passion, would it be virtually worthless in the future?

I don't want to spend £40 on a boxed Game Gear - only to get £10 for it in 1-2 years time.

Not me, i wouldn't consider them to be worthwhile emulating either, tbh there wasn't much of note on any handheld but if i had to pick one then the gameboy probably had the best games.

Considering this statement i think maybe you should have grabbed yourself a Nintendo ds instead, there are still new 2d mario and yoshis island games coming out and if you grab yourself an R4 or similar there is some really decent homebrew stuff coming out lately too, some of it commercial in quality for free.

Well on this note it depends what you want out of it, if you get your moneys worth by spending a great amount of time playing on it does it really matter?
