Survival of the thickest plastic (Aka Console/computer greatest survival thread)

Ok i'm struggling with thread ideas so here's another ridiculous one until i come up with something better.

*Note no current generation consoles can be included here, so no wii, ps3, ds, psp or xbox 360 stories please*

We all have had our console/computer accidents over the years, dropping it, soaking it, hitting it, melting it, let's hear those stories but with the following points clearly made.

1) What console/computer was the item in question?
2) What actually happened
3) Did it survive the ordeal with or without visible damage
3) Did it survive the ordeal working or not

Hopefully we will find out which retro console/computer was really built to last.
