ZX Spectrum + does it work?

Hi all

I have been having a clear out and want to get rid of my old spectrum. It has plenty of games with it as you can see in the attached picture and i assume they all work although they were last tested some 15 years ago. Unfortunately i couldn't test any of them as some of the keys didn't work. I took it apart and can see that the keyboard membrane is past it's best, in fact its the 'ribbon' for want of a better word between the membrane and the mainboard.

I put them on ebay as untested to see what they would fetch but no bids. I don't want to spend £10 on a new membrane to find the games/console doesn't work anyway and i don't want to just throw them away, seems a shame!

So i was wondering, does anyone have another half a working zx spectrum + and we could combine to have something that works or failing that, if there are any retro gamers out there on the forum who would like to take the games off my hands. As i say, i have no reason to assume they wouldn't work, just can't load them to check. If someone did take them off me and found that they all work and wanted to throw a fiver my way i wouldn't complain

Cheers!

I'm pretty sure even if they did it wouldn't be worth your or their while messing about with it, the thing even if it was working perfectly would struggle to fetch much more than about a tenner, unless it's otherwise pristine and boxed?

I'm sure someone would love to take the games off your hands, you have some true classics there, personally i'd say they're worth a tad more than a fiver, assuming they work even at a measly 50p a piece they got to be worth a good tenner (for those in the piccy) plus whatever the additional postage costs, try placing an ad in the gaming classified section listing your games.

Re: ZX Spectrum + does it work?

thanks for the response. Do you have any in mind that are particular classics? I searched for some of them on ebay and they aren't getting bids.

The two horace games along with jet set willy, skool daze, salamander and dizzy, though classic doesn't mean they are worth the most, usually the unheard of titles are worth more.

Maybe someone else better qualified can help with regard to pricing?, i never owned a speccy being a c64 nut and all and would set a reasonably cheap price of 50p each x the 20 odd you have then add the postage, you'd need to research each individual game to deem which if any are worth a decent amount.
