No picture as at work but got as Playstation 1 (not so old but nearly retro) for £5 incl 2 controllers, 11 games, a light gun and all the leads last weekend at my local bootsale:O)

Only wanted the games for my mame cabinet but it works fine and thinks its chipped as well as one of the discs look as though its a copy, so bonus!

Re: car boot finds

I once got a sega megadrive the mega CD add on thing and the 32x add on thing, around 15 mega drive games around 10 mega CD games and 3 32x games and a N64 with 4 pads an 2 games all for £7

I got 2 boxed snes consoles one was the mario stars one and the other was the bazooka gun boxed set it also had the gun and there was around 10 games for £10 out the admag

One of my best finds i though was a boxed mega drive the sonic 1 boxed set which looked like it had just came from the shop it had all the original books and leaflets even the twisty ties holding the wires together and the red cellophane covering it all it was mint no marks on the box or anything not even dented egdes i got that fior £5

+ loads of random games and other bits and bobs

Its hard to find bargains now as people know how much its all worth on ebay i made loads selling all that stuff i had around 80 snes games at one point and i bet i never paid more than £130 for it all.. i was getting up to 10-15 quid for some of the games when i got rid of it all.

I wish i had kept some of it now but it seems pointless when i can put just about every mega drive game out on my N95 or a fingernail sized card and play them on my pc.

Re: car boot finds

Once again no pics, but i have slapped this about quite a bit on here, i bought a boxed snes with 20 odd games for a tenner about 5 years ago now, my youngest hammered the thing for a year or so, then i sold it to (at the time) gamestation who gave me £30 odd quid for it and £2 - £3 each for the games, i got a bit of a bargain there i'm sure you'll agree.

Funny thing is though for all the profit i now wished i'd kept it, as they are now much harder to come by, especially a boxed one.

Re: car boot finds

I Go to the carboot sales every sunday , sometimes i get stuff and sometimes i don't as people look on ebay now and realise they can get more money.
In the past i got a mint nes boxed for 3.00 quid.
N64's for 3.00 quid.
Also i recently went past cash convertors on the bus and noticed a snes boxed in the window.
So i jumped of the bus and ran in there , the box has some edge were but the console has never been used (seriously no wear marks were the carts go in) all poythene bagged all still with ties on them only cost a tenner.

Re: car boot finds

I refuse to believe that you got all that for £21.

Either you bought from a drug addict or someone is oblivious to the word 'ebay'

Well i kid you not , i got all this for £21.00.
And im sure they were oblivious to ebay as , i did not need to bargain anybody down ,the xbox games he wanted 50p each and i was lookong through and he said i will do the lot for £5.00 and i didnt even think and took the lot some are badly scratched though.
When i asked the guy about the n64 i was expecting at least £10.00 just for mario cart.
He also had the unboxed dreamcast (he wanted £10.00) but he says give us a tenner for the lot.
I was truly amazed myself.
i will get my money back by selling shenmue 2 alone.

Re: car boot finds

I would love to see a Saturn at a carboot, I'd snap it up in an instant....some awesome gaming memories there but alas...never have. Same goes for a Megadrive 1/MegaCd 1 (can you tell I was a Sega fanboy as a youngster? )

Can't believe ppl give away Dreamcast's like that either. I still have mine boxed, with four pads, 4 vmu's and 4 rumble packs, 2 boxed guns, 2 boxed mice, 2 boxed keyboards and christ knows how many games....I will never sell it ever. Best.console.ever. I was gonna build a cabinet around it but Dreamcast emulation seems to have come on leaps and bounds so it will stay safely tucked away......

Indeed mate, i was the same...a Huge Sega fan in the old days and it was a sad day when they stopped making consoles.

I have a Megadrive but couldn't get it working when I last tried. My Japanese import (from 1989) also broke so that got chucked a while back. I still have a Saturn with a load of games and an RGB scart lead and that works a treat!

I also have a boxed DC with about 5 pads, loads of games (including boxed HOTD2 with 2 guns) and a few VMU's.

I also rigged up the Dreamcast and the PS2 to my Jamma cab in the old days. It involved building some circuit boards and took ages but worked a treat. Playing the likes of Soul Calibur, Marvel v Capcom 2, Ikaruga, Virtual Fighter 3tb etc. on the cab was great!

That's why the console made an impact on me back in the day. It was towards the later days of arcades being reasonably large and for all intense and purposes you had a portable Naomi unit under you tv I guess the Saturn was the same as that had ST-V arcade's based off it IIRC.

Vastly underated the poor old DC

To be honest I feel that the DC is actually very well rated (at least amongst gamers), it was just seriously let down in terms of software support.

It's main issue was a lack of a decent footie title. The PS2 had PES and FIFA and I must admit that I finally gave in and bought a PS2 when PES was released on it. I suppose when you chuck in the likes of GTA & GT then it became even more attractive. MSR was pretty good though and Sega GT wasn't too bad either.

One game I did love on the DC was Revolt though. I felt that it was very fresh, very playable and tough to master.

Re: car boot finds

Couple of weeks ago I got a woody (Atari VCS) with 2 pads and about 10 boxed games for £8.00

Also got a game gear with tv tuner, carry case and about 6 games for £8.00

Best day I ever had was about 8 years ago - Panzer Dragoon Saga for £4.00 (sold for £100 on ebay) as well as SAturn memory card, Guardian Heroes and about 3-4 other rare Saturn titles.
