Don't forget that the problem is in the second word of the issue "Climate Change", not the climate itself, its the rate of change that is the issue. This assumption about leaf temperature, made when estimating historical temperatures, may affect the levels of temp but not the rate of change, which has never been measured as being anything like that which we have caused in the last 3 decades.
