Working in the "green" industry

Notwithstanding that we all have a part to play, and some companies have appointed people with CSR "hats" to look after their "green" interests, how many people actually work for a company whose sole function and ethos is to find ways to assist OTHER companies reduce their carbon footprint?

I was intrigued because I was approached yesterday to consider a sales and account management role in a company whose raison d'etre is to equip or provide companies with capabilities for them to become Carbon Neutral. I have to admit to being intrigued by such an opportunity to make a difference beyond my own "world" as it were. Curious to know who else has already gone down this route.

Not really, but ten years ago, on my University work in industry year, I helped a young engineer, around five years my senior, greatly reduce the energy bills of the steel rolling mill where we worked. He did additional work throughout the group and saved millions.

Have I defeated MMGW?
