Dimmable energy saving bulbs

Hi all

I have a total of thirteen 60w light bulbs (candle, bayonet fitting) in my living room, which are on a dimmer switch. I would like to replace them with energy saving bulbs, but these must be able to be dimmed as well.

Can anyone recommend somewhere cheap to buy these please? The ones I'm finding are almost £10 each, that doesn't sound right to me, well over £100 to replace them all is a joke.

thanks

Re: Dimmable energy saving bulbs

Have you tried using the "Search this forum" pulldown option/tool for the word "dimmable" ?
I'm sure it's been discussed within existing energy saving bulb or lamp threads within this forum section.

Re: Dimmable energy saving bulbs

I have seen what look super efficient normal incandescent bulbs being sold as energy savers. These are dimmable.

Re: Dimmable energy saving bulbs

Not sure what these "super efficient incandescents" are.
Unless, of course, you're referring to halogen equivalents - which are indeed dimmable (and are discussed/mentioned in other threads).
They are somewhat more energy efficient than normal incandescents, usually quoted at 30% saving.
