Harmony 1000 issues

I have a Harmony 1000, It works fine apart from a couple of small issues/

1. I have a hitachi T.V that needs to be put on S-video to watch my PVR sky + box which is selected on the AV4 input. on the normal tv remote you have to press AV 4 twice to get it selected.

Im having problems setting that up without cocking up the DVD settings I already have setup.

2. The other problem is the 'down' hard button isnt working, I have tried to get the 1000 to re learn the command but that doesnt seem to work.

I'm a bit of a novice with the AV world so help would be gratefully apreciated!

Your questions actually raise more questions before yours can be answered: Are you using Activities? If so, which of the four methods of selecting their inputs are you using? How many input buttons are there on the original remote? Do they all need one more than one press? Does the "down" command work neither from Activities nor from Devices?
