Harmony remote and Samsung M86/7 DTV problem
I've just spent an hour or so setting up my new Harmony 525. Everything works perfectly apart from the fact that the software (newest from the website) doesn't seem to support a DTV input. If you select TV as the input it goes to analogue when you select the "watch TV" activity.
My first response was to make it learn the TV/DTV button from the Samsung remote - this toggles between analogue and digital and also switches to the digital tuner from other inputs.
This meant that I could switch from other activities straight to digital tv, but when I turned the set on via "watch TV" (ie what I will do most times) it starts up in digital and then the harmony sends out the "TV/DTV" signal which switches it back to analogue.
My next move was to reduce the start-up response time of the TV, so now when I turn on the TV via "watch TV" the tv misses the TV/DTV signal.
I thought I'd outsmarted it, but no. If I turn the TV off whilst it's in another activity (ie "Watch DVD" using HDMI1), then when I switch the TV back on with "watch TV" it again misses the TV/DTV signal, but now starts up on the HDMI1 input.
Does anyone know if there is a way or built-in command to select the DTV input directly?

Hi, well first I would not start messing with the start up times etc, not yet!
I could not find the model you mention in the database so I assume you have taught it?
First, determine;
1. Does your TV have a setting to switch on to a certain input, if so does it consistently come on to the same thing or whatever it was on when powered off?
2. same question when leaving an AV input, does it go back to last setting etc.

The model number is LE40M86BD (same as the LE40M87BD) so it had all the codes pre-learnt. The original remote doesn't have individual input buttons (it has a source button that cycles through some of them and a menu to select them), but it does have individual codes that the Harmony uses. I just need to find the correct one to switch to the DTV tuner.

Re: Harmony remote and Samsung M86/7 DTV problem
The database includes a specific discrete DTV command for my Toshiba, but it doesn't work, so I'm resigned to using the ATV/DTV. Just customise a spare button to the ATV/DTV command and use it when the TV switches to the wrong one - it's no great hassle.

That's what I'm doing at the moment, but if I switch the TV off having been watching dtv, then when I switch it on via "watch TV" it hits the dtv button again, switching it to analogue. I'll give CS a ring tomorrow, but I think the best option may be to assign "0" to be the button that changes to the TV input - it won't switch between digital/analogue, it won't change the channel - it will change the input back to the last tv mode I used (and I never use analogue). The only downside is that it displays "channel not found" for a couple of seconds (as there is no channel 0).

Re: Harmony remote and Samsung M86/7 DTV problem
I have the same setup and issue (although for the most part I use sky hd via hdmi1) - did you resolve the freeview switching problem?
TIA

Re: Harmony remote and Samsung M86/7 DTV problem
Setting my samsung LE46A656 to InputTV doesn't set it toggle between TV & DTV, anyone got any pointers?
